ARDMORE, Okla. - The LSUS Bass team of JP Kimbrough and Jared Rascoe are in 9th place following the second day of competition at the Carhartt Wild Card BASS tournament.

Faced with changing weather and difficult fishing conditions, Kimbrough and Rascoe felt frustrated throughout much of the day.

"We were 2 for 12 on our first bites" said Rascoe.  Yet the team sbuckled down and still managed to catch 11 lbs, 11 ounces for a two day total of 27 lbs, 12 ounces.

As one of the top 20 teams, Kimbrough and Rascoe will fish Saturday for a chance to qualify for the National Tournament.  The Bassmaster National Championship will be held July 28th - 30th on the Green River Lake in Kentucky.

After starting the day in 13th place, Teammates Christian Brown and Adam Burkett caught five fish weighing 7 lbs 14 ounces. Their two day total of 21 lbs 1 ounce earned them 28th place in the 80 team field.

"It's not how I wanted to finish" stated Burkett, a recent LSUS graduate who took vacation from his job to fish one last tournament.

Burkett and Brown have represented LSUS well, demonstrating excellent sportsmanship throughout their college career.
