Women's Cross Country - Fri, Oct. 7, 2016

LSUS Cross Country traveled to the Choctaw Trails in Clinton, Mississippi to compete at the Watson Ford Invitational hosted by Mississippi College. Over 30 schools participated in the meet including 21 non-division 1 teams. It was a warm evening on the hilly course that culminated in a quarter-mile uphill finish. Despite the difficult conditions, the Pilots ran well.

The women's race was the first of the evening. Sarah Haines (SO/Shreveport, Louisiana) led the LSUS Women's team, running 31:52 on the 3.74 mile course and place 46th overall. Kate Inchun (SR/Houston, Texas) finished second for the Lady Pilots, running 35:06 and coming in 48th place. Leah Silva stayed with Kate until the very end and finished right behind her in 35:08 for 49th place. Jaleah Turner (JR/Monroe, Louisiana) was next, running 42:39 for 53rd place. Anne Puckett (FR/Shreveport, Louisiana) finished out the top 5 for LSUS running 47:58 and placing 57th. The Lady PIlots finished 8th in the meet in the non-D1 division.


The season is almost over for cross country team. They will be competing in the RRAC Conference Meet in Windcrest, Texas on November 4th.
