Men's Soccer - Wed, Aug. 30, 2017

WACO, Texas – Murray Cockburn of LSU Shreveport (La.) won the RRAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honor, while the Pilots' Yoran Van Houdt was named RRAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for Aug. 21-27. This is the first set of conference awards for the 2017 soccer season.

Cockburn had an impressive debut with a hat trick in a 6-0 victory for the Pilots over Central Baptist College (Ark.) last Monday. In the return of LSUS soccer after a five-year hiatus, the junior forward didn't waste any time. Cockburn netted the first goal in 39 seconds and planted all three of his goals within the first seven minutes of the match for an insurmountable lead. The native of Edinburgh, Scotland, had four shots on goal for the game.

Van Houdt delivered the shutout over CBC in his first game in goal for LSUS. The freshman goalkeeper from Mol, Belgium, provided three saves while sustaining the Pilots' defense.
