Men's Soccer - Thu, Sep. 7, 2017

SHREVEPORT, La. – The LSUS men's soccer team have added the no. 2 William Carey Crusaders to their 2017 schedule. The match will take place at William Carey's Crusader Field on Wednesday, September 13 at 4 p.m. The addition to the schedule comes after Keiser University had to cancel a scheduled match with the Pilots due to travel concerns in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma.

"We are excited to play a highly ranked opponent and one of the most respected programs in the NAIA," said LSUS Head Coach Phillip Bohn. "This gives us a great opportunity to see how we stack up against the best the NAIA has to offer. This also gives us the chance to get our name out there as a program on the rise. No matter the result, William Carey will provide us a great challenge and we will get better from the experience."

The Crusaders are currently 3-0 on the season and have outscored their opponents 15-5 as they are coming off their closest game of the season, a 4-3 win on the road at Life University. They have one win so far against a top 25 opponent, a 3-1 victory over no. 11 Bryan College.

The Pilots have outscored their opponents 12-0 in two games but will play two matches before their meeting with the Crusaders. LSUS will travel to Jackson, Mississippi, for games in back-to-back days as they take on Millsaps College on Friday (Sept. 8) at 5 p.m. and then will play at Belhaven at 7 p.m. on Saturday (Sept. 9).
