SHREVEPORT, La. – The LSU Shreveport Pilots women's soccer team dropped their second consecutive Red River Athletic Conference match 1-0 to the visiting University of Houston-Victoria Jaguars on Thursday afternoon at The Swamp. The Pilots slip to 1-4-2 on the year and 0-2 in the league while the Jaguars improve to 1-3 overall and 1-1 in the RRAC.

FROM THE COACH
"We played well," said LSUS Head Coach Ashley Holland. "We moved the ball and had great possession. With the heat and low numbers we fought until the last minute. We have a few things to work on but we have a day to get it together and prepare for the next match. Our girls fought hard and I'm proud of their effort."

TOP PERFORMERS
Haley Burke (JR/Forney, Texas) led the Pilots with three shots and had one shot on goal.

Kati-Jayde Cunningham (JR/Stonewall, Louisiana) ripped two shots and had one on goal while Charly Upchurch (FR/Keithville, Louisiana) had two shots.

Alizah Mendoza (JR/Dallas, Texas) and Mason Richardson (JR/Forney, Texas) took one shot and it was on goal.

Karolyn Hasler (FR/Chandler, Arizona) was busy in goal for the Pilots as she saved eight of the nine shots she faced.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Pilots were creative in moving the ball up field but could never connect to finish the passes.

• UHV had plenty of chances in the contest taking a total of 19 shots but they only needed one as the game-winning goal came during the 53rd minute as Kaitlyn Finger scored an unassisted goal.

IN THE BOX SCORE
• Houston Victoria dominated in shot totals (19-9) and on goal (9-3).

• The Pilots took two corner kicks compared to their guest who took one.

• UHV committed eight fouls to LSUS' seven.
