SHREVEPORT, La. – The LSU Shreveport men's soccer team were shutout for just the second time this season on Thursday afternoon as they fell 2-0 to the University of Houston-Victoria Jaguars at The Swamp in Red River Athletic Conference action. LSUS falls to 6-3 and 0-2 in the league while the Jags improve to 3-1 on the season and 2-0 in the RRAC.

NOTES
• This was the Pilots first loss at home this season and their first loss at home since October 18, 2012, 7-1 loss against UT-Brownsville.

• This was just the Jaguars 4th game of the season as they had five games canceled due to Hurricane Harvey.

FROM THE COACH
"I was disappointed in our second half performance," said LSUS Head Coach Phillip Bohn. "I thought we lost our way in a number of areas and came unglued. Talent can only get a team so far but discipline, composure and execution through adversity are key. All areas we struggled with today. We need to continue to improve overall and maybe show a bit more humility."

TOP PERFORMERS
Carlos Martinez (JR/Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela) led the Pilots with three shots however none found its way on goal while David Martinez (SR/Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela) had two shots both of which were on goal.

Daniel Meza (JR/Fontana, California) took two shots while Robbie Bruce (FR/Cullen, Scotland), Murray Cockburn (JR/Edinburgh, Scotland), Niklas Schell (FR/Nuremberg, Germany), Adam Kirkwood (FR/Stranraer, Scotland) and Lucas Las Casas (SO/Belo Horizonte, Brazil) each took one shot.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Pilots created plenty of opportunities but could never find the back of the net. The best chance the Pilots came during the 23rd minute as Bruce ripped a shot at what appeared to be an unmanned part of the frame but a UHV defender headed out of the box for a team save.

• Later in the contest, during the 68th minute, Kirkwood hit the post off a free kick for the Pilots.

• Houston-Victoria scored the first goal of the contest during the 51st minute as Adrian Rodriguez sent a cross in front of the net that was headed in by Espen Hansen to give the visitors a 1-0 advantage.

• The Jags continued to play with everything they have and they were rewarded with an unassisted goal from Leonel Rivas in the 74th minute.

IN THE BOX SCORE
• The Pilots had the advantage in terms of total shots (12-9) and on goal (5-3).

• Corner kicks were dead even at four with the Pilots taking three in the first half and only one in the second and the Jags were vice versa.

• The foul count ended with UHV committing 15 and LSUS just five while LSUS was offside three times to UHV's one.
