SHREVEPORT, La. – The LSU Shreveport men's soccer team could not get in a groove in Thursday's 2-1 loss against the Texas College Steers in Red River Athletic Conference action at Cargill Park. The Pilots slip to 7-4 overall and 1-3 in the RRAC while the Steers improve to 6-2-1 and 2-1-1 in the league.

FROM THE COACH
"I'm truly disappointed by our approach to today's game," said LSUS Head Coach Phillip Bohn. "We came at this all wrong and put ourselves in a hole we couldn't get out of. We're going through some growing pains and unfortunately for us it's at the benefit of our opponents right now. We are seeing firsthand how hard it can be to win at this level if you don't come with the requisite work ethic, commitment and execution as a team. Now our 1-3 conference record is really disappointing but it's what we are. It is up to us to change it or our conference opponents will continue to collect wins against us. I personally was humiliated by our performance today."

HOW IT HAPPENDED
• The Steers started fast and with the help of a defensive breakdown, put up an early goal during the 6th minute as Confindence Ogo scored unassisted.

• The Pilots answered back with a goal from Carlos Martinez (JR/Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela) with an assist from Murray Cockburn (JR/Edinburgh, Scotland) during the 11th minute to tie the game at one.

• The Steers scored the final goal of the game during the 22nd minute as Ogo netted his second goal of the day with an assist from Karl Pierre-Mesniere.

TOP PERFORMERS
Robbie Bruce (FR/Cullen, Scotland), Daniel Maierhofler (FR/Bendigo, Austrailia), Niall Cheshire (FR/Eastbourne, England), Carlos Martinez and J. P. Mendes Santos (JR/Brasilia, Brazil) all took a pair of shots each.

• Cockburn, Daniel Meza (JR/Fontana, California), Oliver Foran (FR/Brisbane, Austrailia) and Pedro Natalini (FR/Sao Paulo, Brazil) all took one shot a piece.

Mickey Raine (JR/Dallas, Texas) collected two saves in the contest.
