TEXARKANA, Tex. – The LSU Shreveport men's soccer team used three first-half goals to get by the Texas A&M-Texarkana Eagles 3-2 on Thursday night in Red River Athletic Conference action. The Pilots improve to 9-4 overall and 3-3 in the league while the Eagles slide to 3-10 and 0-5 in the RRAC.

FROM THE COACH
"Our boys worked very hard tonight and created some great scoring opportunities," said LSUS Head Coach Phillip Bohn. "Although we made some mistakes, I thought our effort carried us through and was the difference in the win."

TOP PERFORMERS
• The Pilots did a good job of spreading the ball around as seven difference Pilots took at least one shot led by Murray Cockburn who took a total of five shots with one being on goal.

Robbie Bruce took a pair of shots and had one assists while Adam Kirkwood matched Bruce's stat line.

J. P. Mendes Santos was the only other Pilot that took a shot that did not find the back of the net but it was on goal.

David Martinez had an assists while Daniel Meza, Andres Carrasquilla and Jevanni Hinkson were the goal scorers.

Yoran Van Houdt picked up the win making five saves in 90 minutes of action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• As they have done plenty of times this season, the Pilots started fast as Meza scored three minutes into the contest with Adam Kirkwood and Niklas Schell received credit for the assists.

• TAMUT got on the board with a goal from Oscar Herrera during the 9th minutes on a pass from Dalton Hinton.

• The Pilots answered to retake the lead in the 32nd minute as Martinez passed to Carrasquilla.

• LSUS added one more before the break that proved to be the game winner as Bruce assisted Hinkson during the 34th minute.

• The home squad added the final goal of the game just four minutes into the second half as Herrera assisted Dylan Murray.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• The shot totals were dead even at 15 but the Pilots edged the home team in on goal 15-10.

• LSUS led in corner kicks 5-2 while the Pilots had eight fouls to TAMUT's four.
