Landry Wheeler Joins LSUS Athletics as Chief of Staff

SHREVEPORT, La. – LSU Shreveport Athletics has named Landry Wheeler as the department's new Chief of Staff, adding a versatile background in athletic event management, marketing, strategic communications, and organizational leadership to the Pilots' administrative team.

LSUS Director of Athletics Lucas Morgan said Wheeler distinguished herself throughout the search process with her organizational expertise and collaborative approach.

"Welcoming Landry to the LSUS Athletics team is a huge step forward for our program," Morgan said. "From the beginning of the search process, it was clear that she possesses the organizational skills, attention to detail, and event management experience that are essential to delivering a first-class experience for our student-athletes, coaches, and fans."

In her new role, Wheeler will oversee key operational initiatives within the athletics department while working closely with administrators, coaches, campus partners, and external stakeholders to enhance the experience for LSUS student-athletes.

Wheeler comes to LSUS from 2D Sports, where she served as Marketing Specialist and Special Event Coordinator. There, she led marketing strategies and promotional efforts for large-scale youth and high school sporting events across seven southeastern states. Prior to that, she spent nearly four years with the City of Ruston's Sports Complex and Parks & Recreation Department in several leadership roles, coordinating community events, managing digital marketing initiatives, developing wellness programming, and cultivating partnerships with local businesses and organizations.

A graduate of Louisiana Tech University, Wheeler earned both a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. Throughout her collegiate career, she held numerous leadership positions, including serving as a student recruiter, participating in Student Government, and contributing to several campus organizations dedicated to leadership and service.

"I am incredibly honored to be joining such an incredible program and am excited for the opportunity to play a role in its mission," Wheeler said. "Athletics has the unique ability to unite a campus and community, and I'm excited to contribute by supporting our student-athletes, coaches, and staff. I look forward to helping build on this department's success, creating meaningful experiences for our teams and fans, and working alongside an outstanding group of people. I can't wait to get started and be part of what's ahead for LSUS Athletics!"

"Landry brings a vision centered on intentional growth through collaboration," Morgan added. "She understands that success comes from building strong relationships across our coaching staff, campus community, and external partners while ensuring every detail is executed with excellence. Her commitment to raising our operational standards and creating memorable championship-caliber events will have an immediate impact on our department."

Wheeler's experience in athletic operations, event management, marketing, and relationship building aligns with LSUS Athletics' ongoing focus on the student-athlete experience. She begins her duties immediately as the Pilots continue to build upon one of the NAIA's premier athletic programs.
