JUNIOR (2017): RRAC All-Tournament Team selection…played in 55 games and started 49 for the Pilots…hit .369 with 10 doubles, three homers and 38 RBIs…had 15 multi-hit games…had eight multi-RBI games…recorded a season high four hits against Jarvis Christian in the RRAC Tournament…drove in a season high of four runs against Baker and Southwest.

SOPHOMORE (2016): played in 42 games for the Baton Rouge Community College Bears and Coach L.J. Dupuy…hit .336 with four home runs, 28 RBIs, 33 Runs Scored and 15 Stolen Bases…had 13 multi-hit games…was 5-for-5 with four runs scored and two RBIs against Pensacola State…drove in a season high four runs twice (against Mississippi Gulf Coast and Delgado)…stole three bases against Pensacola State.

FRESHMAN (2015): played in 33 games for the Bears…hit .279 with 16 RBIs, 19 Runs Scored and two stolen bases…had five multi-hit games…was 3-for-3 against Southern University with 4 RBIs to set single game highs.

HIGH SCHOOL: lettered four years at Alexandria Senior High School…was an All-District, Cenla, State selection…All-Cenla MVP…2014 Cenla Focus Athlete of the Year.

PERSONAL: born Kevin Michael VanAsselberg on April 18, 1996, in Shreveport, Louisiana…son of Christina Bye and Ricky VanAsselberg…has two brothers: Ricky VanAsselberg (22) and Josh Emerson (17)…has one sister, Grace VanAsselberg (17)…majoring in Business with a target graduation date of December 2018…plans on coaching at the collegiate level…his dad Ricky played for five different teams in the Independent Leagues and has been managing since 2006 including a two-year stop here in Shreveport with the Shreveport-Bossier Captains (106-85) in 2009-2010.
