JUNIOR (2017): played in 52 games for the Pilots and started in 41…hit .288 with nine doubles, three triples, two homers and drove in 39…had nine multi-hit games…had 12 multi-RBI games…recorded his season high of four hits against William Carey…had a season high of three RBIs against William Carey and Wiley…had two doubles against Southern Arkansas.

SOPHOMORE (2016): played in 41 games for Coach L. J. Dupuy and the Baton Rouge Community College Bears…hit .291 with three home runs, 22 RBIs, 23 runs scored and six stolen bases…had 14 multi-hit games…hit safely in his last four games…had a season high four hits (4-for-4), scored three runs, hit a home run and drove in two runs in a 9-7 win at St. Louis CC.

FRESHMAN (2015): played in 44 games for the Bears…hit .297 with 24 RBIs, 26 Runs and stole two bases…had 14 multi-hit games…went 4-for-5 against Arkansas Baptist…drove in a season high of three runs against St. Louis CC.

HIGH SCHOOL: lettered three seasons for Coach Jason Kinchen at Central Private School in Baton Rouge…team won the 2013 State Championship…was an All-District selection in 2011 & 2013…Mississippi Association of Independent Schools (MAIS) All-Star Game participant.

PERSONAL: born Layton Laird on March 17, 1995, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana…son of Shannon and Joel Laird…has two brothers: Dylan (19) and Skylar (12)…has three sisters: Candice (26), Alexis (19), and Larsyn (9)…majoring in Pre-Physical Therapy…plans on becoming a Physical Therapist.
