#12 PILOTS PICK UP SERIES WIN OVER JARVIS

After dropping game one of the three game series against Jarvis, the Pilots bounced back for a Saturday sweep and the series victory. LSUS won game one 10-8 before finishing off the series with a 14-9 victory. Shreveport is now 15-3 on the season and 2-1 in the RRAC. The Pilots have won every series of the season.

In game one today, it took 10 runs for the Pilots to get the victory over Jarvis. LSUS picked up 12 hits in the game paced by three hits from Kody Kolb and three from Ricky Perez. Taylor Fajardo delivered a solo shot for the Pilots with the only home run of the game for LSUS. Payton Robertson picked ip a pair of hits and scored a pair of runs while stealing three bases in the game. Corey Bellot and Ryne Ray each drove in three runs in the game to provide the run support for the pitching staff.

It was another forgettable day for the LSUS pitching staff as Kevin Miranda got the start but allowed six runs, five earned, in just four innings of work. He did strike out six batters in the four innings but allowed nine hits. Miranda picked up the win in the contest for his team leading fourth victory. Victor Silverio threw an inning and third allowing two runs before Trey Rugg finished off the game and picked up the save with a perfect inning and two-thirds to secure the win. Rugg struck out three of the five batters he faced.

The Pilots would go on to win the second game of the day and claim the series victory by a final of 14-9. We are still awaiting statistics from game number two. We will be sure to update and upload those as soon as they become available from Jarvis.
