Fritz Named RRAC Player of the Week After Strong Week at Cajun Collision

Waxahachie, Texas—The Pilots collected conference recognition for the second week in a row. Previously, Draven Zeigler took home the conference title of Pitcher of the Week, however this week was AJ Fritz's turn.

Fritz acted as a catalyst for the Pilots in a 4-0 week at the Cajun Collision in Sterlington, Louisiana, bringing in five runs with a double and a homerun. He was 7-for-11 at the plate while facing four nationally recognized opponents. The senior from Lebanon, Ohio was 4-for-4 in an 8-4 win over the Drovers of USAO which included a homerun and two RBIs and added two more RBIs in the 4-3 victory over the Bobcats of St. Thomas University.

Fritz continued to prove his role as a utility player for the Pilots as he stood on the mound for the Pilots throwing four scoreless innings against the Eagles of Oregon Tech. He gave up just three hits while laying down a sacrifice bunt and a sacrifice fly in innings in which the Pilots scored from the DH position.

Fritz and the Pilots will be back in action Friday February 16th as they take on the Rams of Huston-Tillotson to open conference play. First pitch is set for 6:00pm CT from Austin, Texas.
