Four Pilots Receive LSWA All-Louisiana Recognition
Eunice, La-- The Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA) announced Tuesday the two All-Louisiana Teams for collegiate baseball and Honorable Mention. The teams are comprised of players from not only schools all across Louisiana, but from all levels of collegiate baseball from junior college to NCAA Division I. The Pilots were recognized on both the 2nd Team and Honorable Mention including Isaac Rohde (P), Josh Gibson (UTL), Vantrel Reed (2B), and Trevor Burkhart (OF).
Isaac Rohde adds 2nd Team All-Louisiana to his list of accolades for the 2024 season. Rohde had the lowest Earned Run Average across 101.2 innings in the country at 1.68. For much of the season Rohde also led the country in strike outs but ended the year in 4th with 129. He was also recognized as a NAIA 1st Team All-American, RRAC Pitcher of the Year, and RRAC 1st Team All-Conference selections.
Josh Gibson also was selected to the 2nd Team All-Louisiana as a utility player. He had a slash line of .404/.519/.632 accompanied by 14 doubles, 5 triples, 5 homeruns, and 39 RBIs. Gibson was also a RRAC 1st Team All-Conference selection.
Vantrel Reed was added to the All-Louisiana Honorable Mention at 2nd base. The RRAC Player of the Year hit .387/.459/.638 this season while going for 16 doubles, 5 triples, 8 homeruns, and 60 RBIs. In addition to being the RRAC Player of the Year, Reed was recognized as a NAIA 2nd Team All-American, RRAC 1st Team All-Conference, and RRAC All-Tournament Team.
Trevor Burkhart was recognized as an All-Louisiana Honorable Mention member as well. Burkhart hit .384/.432/.518 with 15 doubles, 2 triples, 1 homerun and 31 RBIs. He was also selected to the RRAC 1st Team All-Conference and RRAC All-Tournament Team.
