LSUS Athletics Officially Releases the 2025 Baseball Schedule

SHREVEPORT, La. -- The Louisiana State University Shreveport (LSUS) Pilots Baseball team has announced their highly anticipated 2025 schedule. Coming off an impressive 2024 campaign, the Pilots hold a No. 4 NAIA Top 25 Coaches Pre-season ranking and are poised for another thrilling season. After finishing the previous year with a 44-11 record, the team aims to surpass their regional final finish and make a run for the NAIA World Series. 

The 2025 season will feature a mix of competitive conference and non-conference matchups, including games against seven nationally ranked teams. The Pilots' schedule reflects a commitment to rigorous competition, as stated by Head Coach Brad Neffendorf: 

"We have designed a schedule that we feel will help prepare us each week but ultimately continue to challenge us throughout the regular season and in position to compete in May."  

Key Dates and Highlights: 

  • Season Opener: The Pilots kick off their season on January 25, 2025, hosting McPherson College in Shreveport, La. 

  • Conference Play: Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) matchups begin February 14 against Our Lady of the Lake in San Antonio, Texas. 

  • Senior Weekend: April 19, 2025, against the University of Houston-Victoria in Shreveport, La. 

The Pilots boast one of the most talented rosters in program history, led by standout players Isaac Rohde, a First Team All-American and RRAC Pitcher of the Year, and Vantrel Reed, the RRAC Player of the Year and a Third Team All-American. Joining them is Draven Zeigler, a dominant pitcher who recorded 107 strikeouts last season and enters his third year as a key contributor. The roster also features Josh Gibson, a two-time RRAC All-Conference selection known for his reliability, and Diego Aragon, the team's starting catcher for the past two seasons, who has earned RRAC All-Conference honors and Gold Glove awards each year. Together, these players bring exceptional skill, leadership, and experience to the 2025 campaign. 

This season promises high-level baseball as LSUS seeks to capitalize on one of the strongest rosters in RRAC.
