Pilots Baseball Ranked First in 2025 RRAC Baseball Preseason Poll
Shreveport, LA — The Louisiana State University Shreveport (LSUS) Pilots baseball team has earned the top spot in the 2025 Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Baseball Preseason Poll, affirming their status as a powerhouse in collegiate baseball. The Pilots were also ranked No. 4 in the NAIA Baseball Coaches' Top 25 Preseason Poll released in November 2024.
During the 2023-2024 season, LSUS advanced to the semifinal round of the RRAC Baseball Tournament, narrowly falling to Louisiana Christian, 7-6. The Pilots also made an impressive showing in the NAIA Opening Round Shreveport Bracket, losing a hard-fought 2-1 pitcher's duel against Kansas Wesleyan.
As the Pilots prepare for the 2024-2025 season, they return one of the most accomplished rosters in program history, featuring two All-Americans and the reigning RRAC Player of the Year Vantrel Reed and Pitcher of the Year Isaac Rohde.
LSUS fans will have their first chance to see the Pilots in action during a scrimmage game against Bossier Parish Community College on Saturday, January 18, at 2 p.m. at Pilot Field. The official home opener will follow one week later with a doubleheader against McPherson College on Saturday, January 25, starting at noon.
