LSUS Head Coach Brad Neffendorf Named RRAC Coach of the Year Amid Historic Baseball Season

SHREVEPORT, La. – Louisiana State University Shreveport (LSUS) head baseball coach Brad Neffendorf has been named the 2025 Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Coach of the Year, capping off a season for the record books. The honor comes as Neffendorf has guided the Pilots through a historic and undefeated campaign that has positioned LSUS firmly at the top of the NAIA baseball landscape.

Under Neffendorf's leadership, the Pilots completed the regular season with a perfect 47-0 overall record, including a dominant 30-0 mark in RRAC play. This marks LSUS's fourth consecutive RRAC Regular Season Championship, reinforcing the program's elite status under his direction.

The Pilots added to their trophy case this past weekend by capturing the 2025 RRAC Baseball Championship, notching their 51st win of the season in the process. The team has held the No. 1 ranking in the NAIA Top 25 Coaches' Poll since March 5 and closed out the regular season as the undisputed top team in the nation.

LSUS's historic run included the best start to a season in NAIA history, reaching 38-0 on April 11 with a 7-1 victory over the University of the Southwest. One week later, the Pilots shattered the NAIA all-time record for consecutive wins—previously set at 41 by Point Park University in 1990—by sweeping UH-Victoria to move to 43-0 on April 18.

Beyond the win column, Neffendorf's team was equally impressive in individual accolades. The Pilots placed 11 players on the All-Conference First Team, three on the Second Team, and six on the Gold Glove Team. LSUS also swept the RRAC's top individual superlatives:

Next up, the Pilots will host the NAIA Baseball Opening Round for the fourth consecutive year at Pilot Field from May 12–15, as they set their sights on a national championship run.
