LSUS Shortstop Jose Sallorin Earns 2025 ABCA-Rawlings NAIA Gold Glove Award

SHREVEPORT, La. — June 18, 2025 — LSU Shreveport senior shortstop Jose Sallorin has been awarded the prestigious 2025 ABCA-Rawlings NAIA Gold Glove Award, recognizing him as one of the nation's elite defensive players. Sallorin played a pivotal role in the Pilots' historic 59-0 undefeated season, which culminated in both the 2025 NAIA National Championship and Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Regular Season and Tournament titles.

Anchoring the infield, Sallorin posted an impressive .980 fielding percentage with 142 assists, consistently flashing his signature range, strong arm, and elite baseball instincts. Offensively, he added 52 hits, 56 RBIs, a .335 batting average, .473 on-base percentage, and a .471 slugging percentage, cementing himself as one of the most well-rounded players in the NAIA.

"This is no surprise with Jose being the National Shortstop Gold Glove winner," said LSUS Head Coach Brad Neffendorf. "This is his second time receiving this award in three years, with the first being the NJCAA National Gold Glove winner in 2023. Jose is arguably one of the best—if not the best defensive shortstops—to ever come through our level. He was the driving force of our defensive energy and intent on a daily basis."

The ABCA-Rawlings NAIA Gold Glove Award is presented annually to the top defensive player at each position across the country. Sallorin's national recognition adds to a remarkable career that has left an enduring legacy in LSUS baseball history.
