Sanchez, Lucas Named ABCA/Rawlings NAIA First Team All-Americans

SHREVEPORT, La. – LSU Shreveport Athletics' Carlos Sanchez and Brock Lucas have been named to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings NAIA First Team All-America squad following standout performances during the 2025 season.

The pair were key contributors to a successful season for the Pilots, who finished 43-14 overall, posted a 20-7 record in Red River Athletic Conference play, and captured the RRAC Tournament Championship.

Sanchez led the LSUS offense throughout the season, appearing in 57 games and posting a .388 batting average. The standout outfielder totaled 12 home runs, 82 RBIs, 63 runs scored, and 37 stolen bases while finishing with a .461 on-base percentage and a .547 slugging percentage. His 82 RBIs ranked sixth nationally, highlighting his ability to consistently produce in the middle of the Pilot lineup.

Lucas established himself as one of the premier pitchers in NAIA baseball during his dominant 2025 campaign. The right-hander started all 16 appearances and compiled a 10-2 record across 95.1 innings. He posted a 1.79 ERA and a 0.86 WHIP while striking out 118 batters, averaging 11.14 strikeouts per nine innings. Lucas finished the season ranked fourth nationally in pitching, cementing his place among the top arms in the country.

The ABCA NAIA All-America teams recognize the nation's top performers, and the selection of Sanchez and Lucas to the First Team reflects both their individual excellence and the continued success of the LSU Shreveport baseball program.

With the honor, Sanchez and Lucas join a distinguished list of Pilot baseball student-athletes who have earned All-America recognition while helping establish LSU Shreveport as one of the premier programs in NAIA baseball. Their selections serve as fitting recognition for two players who helped lead the Pilots to a conference tournament championship and another 40-win season.
