Three Pilots Earn LSWA All-Louisiana Baseball Recognition

SHREVEPORT, La. -- Three LSU Shreveport baseball student-athletes were recognized by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA) following the 2026 season, as Brock Lucas and Carlos Sanchez earned First Team All-Louisiana honors and Quaterrion Walton was selected as an honorable mention.

Lucas, a senior right-handed pitcher from Hardinsburg, Kentucky, was one of the NAIA's most dominant arms in 2026. He finished the season with a 10-2 record, a 1.79 ERA, a 0.86 WHIP, and 118 strikeouts over 95.1 innings. The NAIA Ball Pitcher of the Year also earned ABCA/Rawlings NAIA First Team All-America honors, First Team All-RRAC recognition, RRAC Baseball Tournament MVP, RRAC Baseball Tournament First Team, and the RRAC Golden Glove Award.

Sanchez, a junior from Maracaibo, Venezuela, earned First Team All-Louisiana recognition after one of the nation's top all-around seasons. The utility player batted .388 with 88 hits, 82 RBI, 20 doubles, 13 triples, and 12 home runs while earning RRAC Player of the Year, First Team All-RRAC, RRAC Golden Glove, RRAC Baseball All-Tournament Team, and ABCA/Rawlings NAIA First Team All-America honors. His 13 triples tied the LSU Shreveport single-season record.

Walton, a junior infielder from Atlanta, Georgia, received honorable mention after batting .368 with 64 hits, 40 RBI, seven doubles, nine triples, 40 stolen bases and two home runs. He posted a .484 on-base percentage and a .546 slugging percentage while earning the RRAC Golden Glove Award and Second Team All-RRAC honors.

The trio helped lead LSU Shreveport to a 43-14 overall record, the RRAC Baseball Tournament Championship, and the championship game of the NAIA Baseball Opening Round Shreveport Bracket. The Pilots also finished tied for No. 11 in the final NAIA Baseball Coaches Top 25 Poll.
