Washington Named as RRAC Player of the Week for the Second Time

Waxahachie, Texas— Tyler Washington continues to work hard for the men's basketball team game in, and game out. His efforts have not gone unrecognized either as he has collected his second conference player of the week award this season.

Washington was named the RRAC Player of the week following a 2-1 week for the Pilots. He posted averages of 22.3 points and 11.7 rebounds for the Pilots, including two massive dunks in the victory over Huston-Tillotson. The senior from Delhi, La., put up 21 and 24 points in the two Pilot victories over Texas A&M University-Texarkana and Huston-Tillotson University (Texas). Even in the loss to Our Lady of the Lake University, Washington post 22 points and 14 rebounds to record another double-double on the season. On the week Washington shot 26-of-47 from the field including 8 from three-point range; raising his season averages to 10.1 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. LSUS moved to 11-4 in conference play and 16-5 overall.

The Pilots will be back in action Thursday February 8th as they take on the Bulldogs of Jarvis Christian. Tip-off is set for 7:30pm CT from Hawkins, Texas.
