Pilots Tamed the Mustangs of Southwest 100-75

Shreveport, Louisiana— In a dominant display of basketball prowess, the LSU Shreveport Pilots soared to a resounding victory over the University of the Southwest Mustangs, triumphing with a commanding scoreline of 100-75. With the win the Pilots improved their overall record to 20-7 and their conference record to 15-6. 

From the moment the Pilots stepped onto the court, their determination to assert their dominance was palpable. It was evident right from the tip-off that they were the team to beat, wasting no time in seizing control of the game. Launching into action with an explosive 19-point run, the Pilots quickly raced ahead, establishing an imposing 22-2 lead within the opening six minutes of play. 

Throughout the first half, the Pilots maintained their relentless momentum, executing their plays with precision and efficiency. By the time the halftime buzzer sounded, they had built an impressive 48-26 advantage over their opponents, firmly asserting their superiority on both ends of the court. 

In terms of shooting, the Pilots showcased remarkable accuracy, finishing the first half with a commendable 19-38 record from the field, including an impressive tally of 8 three-pointers. Their proficiency extended to the free-throw line, where they converted 2-of-3 attempts, further solidifying their grip on the game. Meanwhile, the Mustangs struggled to find their rhythm, managing a mere 9-36 shooting performance from the field, with just one three-pointer to their name. Their 7-of-9 free-throw shooting provided little solace as they found themselves trailing by a significant margin at the halfway mark. 

As the second half got underway, the Pilots showed no signs of letting up, continuing to dictate the tempo of the game with their relentless offensive onslaught. With their lead firmly secured, they cruised through the remainder of the contest, adding another 52 points to their tally with remarkable ease. 

Leading the charge for the Pilots was the dynamic Tyler Washington, who delivered a stellar performance, lighting up the scoreboard with 19 points to his name. Washington's sharpshooting prowess was on full display, as he knocked down four three-pointers and remained flawless from the free-throw line, converting all three of his attempts. Close behind was Calvin Carpenter, who contributed 17 points of his own, showcasing his scoring versatility with a combination of perimeter shooting and precision free-throw shooting. 

Rounding out the Pilots' impressive offensive display were Josh LeBlanc, Damon Davis, and Jalen King, who chipped in with 16, 14, and 13 points respectively, highlighting the team's depth and balanced scoring attack. 

In the end, it was a comprehensive team effort from the Pilots that propelled them to victory, as they demonstrated their superiority in all facets of the game en route to a commanding win over the University of the Southwest Mustangs.
