Pilots Fall to Saints in Tight Matchup, 90-86

SAN ANTONIO, Texas –The Louisiana State University Shreveport (LSUS) men's basketball team fell just short in a hard-fought contest against Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) on Thursday night, losing 90-86 at Mabee Gymnasium.

The Pilots (8-6) were powered by a solid performance from Trey Boston, who poured in a game-high 29 points while adding nine rebounds and four assists. Tyler Washington contributed 13 points and three rebounds, while Taj Anderson added 11 points and five rebounds. Devonte Austin and Hayden Brittingham also reached double figures, each scoring 10 points, with Brittingham adding four rebounds and two blocks.

LSUS shot efficiently from the field, connecting on 48.4 percent of their attempts and an impressive 50 percent from beyond the arc. However, struggles at the free throw line (65 percent) proved costly in the close contest.

OLLU's lineup featured balanced contributions from multiple players. Whakil Lopez led the way with 20 points and 15 rebounds, making an impact on both ends of the floor. Trey Law added 17 points, while Breion Powell chipped in with 15 points and nine rebounds. Rob Gil provided a well-rounded effort with 12 points, seven assists, and four steals.

LSUS will look to bounce back on Saturday, December 21, when they take on Texas A&M University-San Antonio on the road. Tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m.
