Anderson Named NAIA Men’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week (Feb. 4)

SHREVEPORT, La. — For the first time since Stevie Clark in 2018, an LSUS Pilots men's basketball player has claimed the NAIA Men's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week honor. Taj Anderson earned the national recognition after a dominant week on the court, highlighted by a record-breaking scoring explosion.

Anderson delivered a 53-point masterpiece, the highest single-game total by any player in the NAIA this season. His efficiency was just as impressive—76% from the field, 66.7% from three-point range, and a flawless 11-of-11 at the free-throw line.

Across three games, the Queens, N.Y. native remained red-hot, shooting 63% overall, 57.1% from deep, and 95% at the line, reinforcing his status as one of the nation's premier scorers. His season-long dominance has him leading the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) in scoring at 20.2 points per game, playing a key role in the Pilots' continued success.

With Anderson leading the charge, LSUS has improved to 11-8 in RRAC play (14-9 overall) as they prepare for a pivotal road matchup against Huston-Tillotson University on Thursday, Feb. 6, in Austin, Texas. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
