Chaos in The Dock: LSUS Takes Down TAMUT on Last-Second Heroics

SHREVEPORT, La. — In a thriller worthy of The Dock's bright lights, LSU Shreveport men's basketball delivered late-game heroics to take down Texas A&M University–Texarkana, 79–76, on Thursday night. The Pilots move to 3-2 overall and open RRAC play 1-0, while the Eagles fall to 1-3 (0-1 RRAC).

LSUS and TAMUT traded blows all night long, setting the stage for a dramatic finish. With the game tied in the final seconds, Hayden Brittingham rose up and buried a clutch jumper with :05 remaining, igniting the crowd. But the Pilots weren't done—after Texarkana pushed the ball up the floor and LSUS forced a stop, Alexzaye Johnson streaked to the rim and finished a buzzer-beating layup as time expired, sealing the win in emphatic fashion.

Brittingham powered LSUS with a dominant 26-point, 11-rebound double-double, controlling the game on both ends. Emareyon McDonald added 18 points, three steals, two rebounds, and two assists, applying pressure all night. Thaddeus Johnson produced a strong two-way outing with 10 points, five boards, four steals, and two assists, while Nico Jones orchestrated the offense with five assists.

Defensively, the Pilots protected the paint with energy—Khi Wallace and Alexzaye Johnson each came up with two blocks. As a team, LSUS shot 47.4% from the field, a scorching 47.1% from deep, and 77.3% from the free-throw line, capitalizing on nearly every key moment.

Texarkana delivered a fight of their own, led by Deovaunta Williams, who finished with 25 points, five rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Jarren Cook added 15 points and three blocks, while Daryl Houston posted 14 points, eight rebounds, three steals, and two assists. Jason Bush, Jr. also contributed 12 points. The Eagles shot 46.4% overall, 42.9% from three, and 69.2% at the stripe, keeping the game tight until the final horn.

The Pilots will be back in action on Monday, Nov. 24 as they host Freed-Hardeman University in The Dock at 2 p.m.
