Pilots Shine at The Dock in 113-84 Victory

SHREVEPORT, La. -- LSU Shreveport put together another emphatic performance at The Dock, rolling past Texas A&M University–San Antonio, 113-84, on Saturday night in Shreveport, Louisiana. The Pilots improved to 15-3 overall and remained perfect in Red River Athletic Conference play at 12-0, while the Jaguars dropped to 4-14 overall and 3-9 in league action.

The Pilots set the tone immediately, jumping out to an early lead behind Emareyon McDonald's perimeter shooting and Hayden Brittingham's activity around the rim. LSU Shreveport built momentum throughout the first half, using second-chance opportunities and transition offense to pull away. A late surge before the break gave the Pilots a 52-39 advantage at halftime.

LSUS took complete control after intermission. Brittingham opened the second half with a string of finishes in the paint, and the Pilots' pressure defense forced turnovers that quickly turned into points on the other end. LSU Shreveport stretched the lead past 30 midway through the half and never looked back, finishing the night with 66 points in the paint and 29 assists on 46 made field goals.

Brittingham recorded his eighth double-double of the season, pouring in 38 points and grabbing 12 rebounds to go along with four assists and four steals. McDonald delivered a standout all-around performance with 31 points, nine rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Thaddeus Johnson added 17 points and nine rebounds, helping anchor the Pilots' inside presence.

Texas A&M–San Antonio was led by Antwone Gonzales, who finished with 27 points, five assists, and two steals. Dezmon Dudley contributed 13 points, six rebounds, and four assists, while Paul Minjoth tallied 11 points, four assists, and three rebounds. Felix Greif also reached double figures with 11 points and four rebounds.

LSU Shreveport shot an efficient 57.5 percent from the field while holding the Jaguars to 38.3 percent. The Pilots also controlled the glass with a 45-39 rebounding advantage and committed just eight turnovers on the night.

The Pilots return to action on Thursday, Jan. 22, when they travel to Jarvis Christian University. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
