Brittingham Sweeps RRAC’s Top Honors, Named Player and Defensive Player of the Year

SHREVEPORT, La. — LSU Shreveport men's basketball standout Hayden Brittingham has been named the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year, capping off a dominant season for the Pilots.

The Dallas, Texas native turned in one of the most complete seasons in program history, averaging 17.9 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game while anchoring LSUS on both ends of the floor. Brittingham's consistent impact elevated the Pilots throughout conference play and made him one of the most feared two-way players in the league.

Brittingham earned RRAC Player of the Week honors six times this season, including four Defensive Player of the Week selections — further highlighting his versatility and relentless presence. Whether protecting the rim, cleaning the glass, or taking over offensively, he proved to be a matchup nightmare night after night.

He recorded 11 double-doubles on the year, showcasing his ability to dominate in multiple facets of the game. His most impressive performance came on Jan. 10 against Texas A&M-San Antonio, when he erupted for 38 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in a statement outing that solidified his place among the conference's elite.

Brittingham's recognition marks a significant achievement for LSU Shreveport men's basketball, as he becomes one of the few players in program history to claim both the conference's top overall and defensive honors in the same season.

The Pilots have advanced to the RRAC Tournament Semifinals and will face Texas A&M–Texarkana on Saturday, Feb. 28 at 7:30 p.m. in Alexandria, La., as they continue their pursuit of a conference championship.
