Khi Wallace Earns RRAC Newcomer of the Year Honors
SHREVEPORT, La. -- LSU Shreveport men's basketball standout Khi Wallace has been named the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Newcomer of the Year, the league announced following the conclusion of the regular season. Wallace's immediate impact on the Pilots program helped fuel one of the conference's top campaigns and positioned LSUS as a championship contender heading into tournament play.
Wallace averaged 15.3 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game during the regular season, emerging as a consistent force on both ends of the floor. His presence in the paint and ability to finish through contact made him a matchup problem throughout conference play, while his defensive instincts anchored the Pilots' interior defense.
The newcomer's dominance did not go unnoticed during the season. Wallace earned RRAC Player of the Week honors three times, including two selections that recognized his defensive performances. His ability to control the glass, alter shots, and protect the rim proved instrumental in several key conference victories.
Wallace recorded 11 double-doubles in regular-season action, highlighting his consistency and motor. His best performance came on Dec. 6 against Jarvis Christian, when he poured in 31 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in a statement outing that showcased his offensive versatility and physicality inside.
The LSU Shreveport Pilots have advanced to the RRAC Tournament Semifinals and will face Texas A&M–Texarkana on Saturday, Feb. 28 at 7:30 p.m. in Alexandria, La., as they continue their pursuit of a conference championship.
