Thomas and Marchany Earn NAIA Men’s Soccer All-American First Team Honors

SHREVEPORT, La. – LSU Shreveport seniors Jack Thomas and Caleb Marchany have been named to the NAIA Men's Soccer All-American First Team, as announced by the NAIA. The pair becomes the first men's soccer student-athletes in program history to earn First-Team All-American distinction.

Thomas capped off a sensational senior campaign as one of the most dynamic attacking players in the nation while rewriting the LSUS record books. The senior finished the season with 20 goals and 12 assists for 52 points, leading the Pilots' offensive attack throughout the year. He recorded 86 shots with 46 on goal, posting a .535 shot-on-goal percentage, and delivered in clutch moments with five golden goals. During the season, Thomas broke LSUS single-season records for goals, shots, and shots on goal, while also surpassing the program's career assists record, which he broke in the course of his senior campaign.

Marchany earned First-Team All-American honors as the anchor and heart of the Pilots' back line, providing steady leadership and defensive excellence all season long. A commanding presence in the defensive third, Marchany also contributed offensively, scoring a goal and finishing the year with a .727 shot-on-goal percentage. His defensive leadership helped guide LSUS to one of the most successful seasons in program history.

Behind the efforts of Thomas, Marchany, and the entire Pilots squad, LSUS posted a 14-2-6 overall record and a dominant 10-1 mark in Red River Athletic Conference play. The Pilots claimed the RRAC regular season championship and climbed as high as No. 7 in the final NAIA national rankings.

LSUS hosted and defeated Faulkner University, 3-2, in the opening round of the NAIA Men's Soccer Tournament to advance to the Round of 16 and the tournament's final site. The Pilots' season came to a close in a hard-fought Round of 16 match against Warner Pacific, ending in a 1-1 draw after regulation before falling in a penalty shootout, 4-3.
