Lady Pilots Fall in OT to Texas Wesleyan in Season Home Opener

Shreveport, Louisiana—In an intense matchup between the LSUS Lady Pilots and the Texas Wesleyan Rams, the game took an exciting turn as it went into overtime. With the loss, the Pilots open their season at 0-1.

The Pilots came out strong, securing a narrow 13-11 lead at the end of the first quarter, with a 6-19 shooting performance compared to the Rams' 3-12. However, the Rams mounted a comeback in the second quarter, scoring 25 points while holding the Pilots to just 17. At halftime, the Rams held a 36-30 lead, outshooting the Pilots with a 9-14 field goal performance to the Pilots' 4-10.

The third quarter saw the Rams extending their lead by adding 18 more points to their tally, while the Pilots managed only 16. In the fourth quarter, the Pilots rallied back, nailing down 21 points and holding the Rams to just 13.

Despite the Pilots' impressive comeback, they struggled in overtime, securing only 5 points, while the Rams scored 12, ultimately leading to a 72-79 victory for Texas Wesleyan.

Destanee Roblow was a standout performer for the Pilots, leading the team with 16 points in the paint and an impressive double-double with 14 rebounds. Tiarra Tillison also made a significant contribution with 11 points and five rebounds.

Erynn Williams added 10 points to the Pilots' score, shooting 4-10 from the field, including 2 three-pointers. She also contributed 3 rebounds and two steals. Despite the hard-fought effort by the Lady Pilots, the Rams of Texas Wesleyan emerged victorious in this thrilling overtime contest.

The Pilots will be back in action Wednesday November 1st as they take on the Gents of Centenary College in the Shreveport Showdown. Tip off is set for 5:30pm CT from The Gold Dome in Shreveport, Louisiana.
