Pilots Cruise Past Wildcats with a Dominant 100-60 Victory
SHREVEPORT, La. – The Louisiana State University Shreveport (LSUS) women's basketball team continued their winning ways in the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC), defeating Louisiana Christian University (LCU) 100-60 on Tuesday night at The Dock. With the victory, the Pilots improved to 4-0 in conference play and 5-2 overall.
Helena Galunic led the Pilots with a standout performance, tallying 17 points, seven rebounds, and five assists. Selma Markisic contributed 15 points and three rebounds, while Alexis Brown added 13 points and a team-high seven assists. Alyssa Chandler chipped in 12 points, and both Erynn Williams and Fatima Katembo scored 10 points each. Katembo also added four rebounds and four assists to her stat line.
The Pilots delivered an efficient offensive effort, shooting 59.3 percent from the field, 41.7 percent from beyond the arc, and 80 percent from the free-throw line.
Louisiana Christian was led by Princis Goff, who poured in a game-high 29 points and grabbed four rebounds. Breyionce George recorded a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds, along with four assists. The Wildcats struggled to find their rhythm, shooting 29.9 percent from the field, 26.7 percent from three-point range, and 72.7 percent from the charity stripe.
LSUS set the tone early and maintained control throughout the game, showcasing their depth and teamwork with six players scoring in double figures.
The Pilots return to action on Monday, December 2, when they host Xavier University (La.) at The Dock. Tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m.
