Williams Named RRAC Defensive Player of the Week

SHREVEPORT, La. – December 16, 2024 – LSU Shreveport women's basketball senior guard Erynn Williams has been named the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Defensive Player of the Week for the period of December 9-15. This is Williams' second Defensive Player of the Week honor this season, having previously received the recognition for her stellar defensive efforts during the week of November 11-16.

Williams played a key role in the Pilots' victories over North American University (Texas) and Huston-Tillotson University (Texas) this past week. The Saginaw, Mich., native showcased her defensive prowess with 12 steals across the two games, including a remarkable seven-steal performance against North American University. She also contributed four rebounds, further solidifying her impact on the defensive end of the court.

With her outstanding performance, Williams continues to be a defensive force in the RRAC. She currently ranks third in the conference with an average of 3.0 steals per game. Her contributions have been instrumental in LSUS' success, as the team improved to an impressive 8-1 in conference play and 9-3 overall on the season.
