Coleman Earns RRAC Defensive Player of the Week Honors

SHREVEPORT, La. — LSU Shreveport junior guard Toni Coleman was named the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Defensive Player of the Week for the dates of Dec. 8–14, as announced by the league office.

The honor marks Coleman's third RRAC Player of the Week award this season and her second defensive recognition, continuing an outstanding junior campaign for the Pilots.

Coleman was a defensive force throughout the week, finishing with 12 total steals, including seven steals against LSUA, while averaging six steals per game. She also made an impact on the glass, averaging six rebounds per contest. Her defensive intensity and leadership helped propel LSU Shreveport to a 76-60 victory over LSUA and a dominant 85-49 win over Louisiana Christian University.

On the season, Coleman leads the Pilots with 51 steals and 41 assists, ranks second on the team in rebounds with 56, and sits third in scoring with 133 points, showcasing her all-around impact on both ends of the floor.

LSU Shreveport remains red-hot at 9-2 overall and 5-0 in RRAC play. The Pilots return to action at The Dock on Dec. 18 as they host the University of the Southwest with tip-off set for 5:30 p.m.
