LSU Shreveport Women’s Basketball Continues to Receive Votes in NAIA Top 25 Poll
SHREVEPORT, La. – The LSU Shreveport women's basketball team remains in the national conversation, receiving 22 votes in the latest NAIA Women's Basketball Coaches Top 25 Poll.
The Pilots have consistently appeared on the national radar this season after earning a No. 25 ranking in the Preseason Coaches Poll on Oct. 22. LSUS later moved into the receiving votes category in November and continues to hold that position as one of the top programs just outside the Top 25.
LSUS is having an outstanding 2025–26 season with a 14-2 overall record and a perfect 10-0 mark in Red River Athletic Conference play. The Pilots have built their success on defensive intensity and balanced offensive production. Most recently, LSU Shreveport earned a wire-to-wire 81-61 victory over North American University on Jan. 10, fueled by relentless defensive pressure and efficient perimeter shooting.
Selma Markisic leads the Pilots and ranks No. 1 in the RRAC in scoring at 18.1 points per game. She also sits No. 3 in the conference in steals with 47. Paula Gonzalez Herrero provides another offensive weapon, averaging 15.9 points and 5.0 rebounds per contest.
Toni Coleman continues to be one of the most dynamic players in the conference. Coleman leads the RRAC in field goal percentage (54.6), steals (74), and assists (68), while averaging 11.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 4.6 steals per game.
Inside, Ally Fleenor is contributing 10.4 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game, while Sami Slusarek averages 10.0 points and 5.5 rebounds. Amandine L'Etang anchors the defense in the paint, leading the RRAC in blocks with 46 and adding 6.6 rebounds per game.
LSU Shreveport returns to action on Wednesday, Jan. 15, when the Pilots welcome Our Lady of the Lake to The Dock. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
