SHREVEPORT, La. – The LSU Shreveport women's basketball team continued its national recognition by receiving votes to the tune of 44 points in the final NAIA Women's Basketball Coaches Top 25 Poll.

The Pilots steadily gained momentum in the national rankings throughout the season. LSUS opened the year ranked No. 25 in the Preseason Coaches Top 25 Poll on Oct. 22, later moved into the receiving votes category in November, earned 17 points in early February, increased that total to 50 points on Feb. 11, and finished the regular season with 44 points in the final poll release.

LSUS enters postseason play with a 25-4 overall record and has officially clinched the Red River Athletic Conference Regular Season Championship. The title secured the Pilots an automatic bid to the NAIA Women's Basketball National Tournament.

Top-seeded LSU Shreveport continued its dominant run Tuesday night at The Dock, cruising past Our Lady of the Lake University, 84-41, in the RRAC Women's Basketball Tournament Quarterfinal. With the win, the Pilots improved to 25-4 overall and advanced to Alexandria for the semifinal round on Saturday, Feb. 28.

LSUS will face No. 4 seed Xavier University of Louisiana with tip-off scheduled for 3 p.m.
