SHREVEPORT, La. - The LSUS Weightlifting team gave a warm welcome to the Japanese Weightlifting Team who landed here in Shreveport on February 7, 2018. This is an annual tradition for the teams and has been so for the last 10 years.
The JWA-LSUS training camp held here at LSUS went on for 3 weeks. Each team member bonded with the next, exchanged great tips and encouraged each other on as they prepared to compete. Our LSUS team played excellent hosts and took the Japanese team members on adventures around Shreveport and Bossier City. Including the Louisiana Boardwalk, a Mudbugs game and definitely managed to squeeze in time to try some local delicacies.
The LSUS team was lucky enough to have the opportunity to visit Japan in March 2017 thanks to Dr. Kyle Pierce and Japanese team. Members of the LSUS team who attended were Kendrick Farris, Ben McRae, Zach Winter, Noah Crofton and Joseph Kauhaahaa. The Japanese National Team were wonderful hosts providing great guidance to the LSUS Team members, and the team had a great time exploring the city.
