Women's Soccer Battles to a Draw With Texas A&M Texarkana

Texarkana, Texas —In a nail biting match on the Morgan Field pitch, the LSU Shreveport Pilots battled to a tie with the Eagles of Texas A&M Texarkana, 1-1. With the tie, the Pilots move to an overall record of 8-3-3 and a conference record of 6-1-3.

 The Pilots established their lead in the first half with Diana Sanchez finding the back of the net. The Pilots tried vigorously to keep the Eagles off of the board as the time ticked off in the first half. Entering the break, they still held tightly to the 1-0 lead.

The second half commenced and the Pilots again battled fiercely to protect their net. However, a ball across the Pilot goal box would dribble into the back of the net for the Eagles, tying the game. As tensions rose, the Pilots and Eagles exchanged blows. The Eagles' goalkeeper stopped many advances including a stifled break away from Chelsea Brown that could've put the Pilots ahead.

The Pilots will be back in action Monday October 23rd as they take on conference rival LSU Alexandria. Kick off is set for 1:00pm CT from The Swamp in Shreveport, Louisiana.
