Pilots Fall to Xavier in First Match of 2024

New Orleans, Louisiana— The Pilot Tennis team opened 2024 with their first official match against the Gold Rush of Xavier. The Pilots fell 6-1, but despite the loss two Pilots took a victory in doubles against the No. 3 ITS ranked doubles team of Xavier.

No. 3 — Kyra Akinnibi/Sydney Green (XULA) d. Ana Julia De Paula Mandrot/Daniela Maldonado (LSUS) 6-4.

Singles

No. 1 — Mbali Langa (XULA) d. Angela Basto (LSUS) 6-2, 6-2.

No. 2 — Amira Bergaoui (XULA) d. Pierina Lescher (LSUS) 6-7 (7-9), 6-2, 7-6 (7-4).
