LSU Shreveport Women’s Tennis Ranked No. 24 in NAIA Preseason Coaches’ Top 25 Poll

SHREVEPORT, La. – The LSU Shreveport women's tennis team will open the 2025-26 season ranked No. 24 in the NAIA Women's Tennis Coaches' Top 25 Preseason Poll, climbing one spot from their No. 25 ranking at the end of last season.

Under the direction of Head Coach Akeem Williams, the Pilots continue to build national recognition after a strong 8-5 campaign in 2024-25. LSUS advanced to the quarterfinal round of the Red River Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Championships, where they dropped a tightly contested 4-3 match to Louisiana Christian University.

Williams returns a talented roster highlighted by Sara Sofia Sanchez, a 2024 RRAC All-Conference Second Team selection who played a key role in the team's success last season. With a solid returning core and rising national standing, the Pilots enter 2025-26 poised to make an even deeper run in both conference and national competition.

LSUS will open its spring slate in February, looking to build on last year's momentum and continue its climb among the NAIA's elite programs.
