Pilots Cruise Past Wildcats with Second-Half Surge, 78-57

PINEVILLE, La. — The LSU Shreveport Pilots secured a 78-57 victory over Louisiana Christian University on the road Saturday afternoon, improving their conference record to 5-0 and overall mark to 7-3. The Pilots overcame a competitive first half to pull away in the final 20 minutes, showcasing their depth and talent against the Wildcats.

Louisiana Christian kept the game close early, with Justice Kelly's three-point shooting helping the Wildcats build a 32-29 lead late in the first half. However, LSU Shreveport responded well to the challenge and gradually took control of the contest.

Khi Wallace led the Pilots with 17 points and 13 rebounds, marking his seventh double-double of the season. He controlled the paint on both ends of the floor, with his presence disrupting LCU's interior offense while providing multiple opportunities for the Pilots on the offensive glass. Wallace's two dunks punctuated key moments in the game, showing his ability to finish strong around the rim.

Emareyon McDonald contributed 17 points, including 4-of-8 shooting from three-point range. His perimeter shooting helped space the floor for LSU Shreveport's offense, creating driving lanes for teammates. McDonald also finished with four assists, demonstrating his improved playmaking ability alongside his scoring.

Devonte Austin added 13 points, including a crucial three-pointer in the second half that extended the Pilots' lead. His three steals also helped disrupt Louisiana Christian's offense, creating transition opportunities for LSUS.

Hayden Brittingham provided strong production off the bench with 12 points and 12 rebounds, along with two blocks. His energy and activity level helped maintain LSU Shreveport's intensity throughout the game.

Thaddeus Johnson contributed 11 points and six rebounds in his continued integration with the team. His steady play has been valuable for the Pilots' rotation.

LSU Shreveport's second-half performance was particularly strong, outscoring Louisiana Christian 28-16 in the final period. The Pilots' depth became more apparent as the game progressed, with multiple contributors stepping up when needed.

For Louisiana Christian (1-9, 0-4), Kelly led the way with 17 points and seven rebounds. Tomario Thomas Jr. added 10 points, while Bryce Weinmunson finished with five assists. The Wildcats showed competitive effort but couldn't match LSU Shreveport's offensive efficiency in the second half.

LSUS will continue conference play on Dec. 15th, when they travel to face Florida Memorial University in Waxhachie, Texas. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 PM.
