No. 7 LSU Shreveport Men’s Soccer Collects Multiple RRAC Postseason Honors
SHREVEPORT, La. – The No. 7-ranked LSU Shreveport men's soccer team continued its dominance in the Red River Athletic Conference, earning several postseason awards following another standout campaign. Head Coach Adam Kay was named the 2025 RRAC Coach of the Year after guiding the Pilots to their fourth consecutive RRAC Regular Season Championship with an overall record of 12-1-5 and a 10-1 mark in conference play.
Under Kay's leadership, the Pilots produced an impressive 47 goals, 43 assists, and a 50.7 percent shot on goal rate while recording nine shutouts throughout the season.
Senior midfielder Jack Thomas (Whittington, England) was named the RRAC Offensive Player of the Year after a record-breaking season. Thomas appeared in 18 games with 13 starts, tallying 17 goals, 10 assists, and 44 points, including four game-winning goals. He also broke the LSUS single-season points record and the career assists record, cementing his legacy as one of the top offensive players in program history.
Anchoring the defensive unit, Caleb Marchany earned RRAC Defensive Player of the Year honors. The veteran defender started all 16 games he played, adding a goal and two points while serving as the backbone of a backline that allowed just 11 goals all season.
Joining Thomas and Marchany on the RRAC First Team All-Conference were Jaime Zani and Aksel Battal. Zani was a consistent offensive force, starting 15 of 18 matches while registering 11 goals, 10 assists, and 32 points with a 65.8 shot-on-goal percentage and three game-winners. Battal contributed three goals, one assist, and seven points in 14 starts, including one game-winning goal.
Goalkeeper Sondre Liahagen-Kolnes earned a spot on the RRAC Second Team All-Conference after an exceptional season between the posts. Kolnes started 16 games and recorded six shutouts, allowing just 11 goals with 26 saves and a 73 percent save rate, helping LSUS secure its elite defensive status.
Two Pilots received RRAC Honorable Mention All-Conference honors: Joel Trueb and Jacob Doehman. Trueb contributed five goals, five assists, and 15 points in 17 appearances, while Doehman added two assists across 15 starts.
LSUS also placed two standout newcomers on the RRAC All-Freshman Team — Mathias Martinez de Sucre, who logged a goal in 10 appearances, and Arian Morris, who played in nine games with one start.
Rounding out the postseason honors, Jordan Bidaisee represented the Pilots on the RRAC Champions of Character Team, exemplifying the NAIA's core values of respect, integrity, responsibility, servant leadership, and sportsmanship.
The Pilots will return to action in the RRAC Men's Soccer Tournament Semifinals in Texarkana, Texas, on Nov. 10 at 5 p.m. as they face Texas A&M–San Antonio in pursuit of another conference title.
