Williams Ties Single Game Steal Record as Pilots Collect 400th Program Win

Texarkana, Texas—In a thrilling matchup, the Pilots women's basketball secured their 15th consecutive victory against the Texas A&M Texarkana Eagles, 66-42. The Pilots improved their record to an overall 17-2 on the season and 13-0 in conference.

 

 The Pilots set the tone early, winning the first quarter 11-9. The Eagles struggled to keep up, shooting 3-12 from the field. As the game progressed, the Pilots maintained their dominance, entering halftime with a solid 27-18 lead. The third quarter saw increased accuracy from both teams, but the Pilots extended their lead to 46-35. The final quarter sealed the victory as the Pilots shut out the Eagles, finishing with a decisive 66-42 win. 

 

Kenyal Perry led the scoring with an impressive 16 points, securing a double-double with 10 rebounds, 1 steal, and 2 blocks. Tyquanna Ross contributed 10 points, while Erynn Williams, just shy of double digits, made a notable impact with 9 points and a record-tying 7 steals. With this win, the Pilots celebrated their 400th program victory, marking a historic milestone for the team.

 

The Pilots will be back in action Thursday February 1st as they take on the Saints of Our Lady of the Lake. Tip-off is set for 5:30pm from The Dock in Shreveport, Louisiana.
