SHREVEPORT, La. --  Top-seeded LSU Shreveport men's basketball will open postseason play on Tuesday night, hosting No. 8 seed Texas A&M-San Antonio in the Red River Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Quarterfinal at The Dock. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m., with the winner advancing to the RRAC Tournament final site at Laborde Earles Coliseum in Alexandria, La.

The Pilots (23-5, 20-2 RRAC) enter the tournament as one of the league's most balanced and efficient teams. LSUS is averaging 91.4 points per game while shooting 51.8 percent from the field and 40.3 percent from three-point range. The Pilots also hold a +15.6 scoring margin and average 42.5 rebounds per game, outrebounding opponents by nearly eight boards per contest.

Khi Wallace continues to be one of the most efficient scorers in the conference, averaging 15.3 points and 8.7 rebounds while shooting an impressive 63.4 percent from the field. Thaddeus Johnson (15.1 ppg) gives the Pilots another perimeter threat, shooting 45.2 percent from three and 85.2 percent at the free-throw line, while Alexzaye Johnson directs the offense with a team-high 144 assists.

Texas A&M-San Antonio (8-20, 7-14 RRAC) will look to play spoiler after battling through conference play to secure the eighth seed. The Jaguars are led by Antonine Gonzales, who averages 17.7 points per game and shoots 44.8 percent from the field. DeMarcus Olney adds 16.3 points per contest, while Carson Brown chips in 15.5 points per game and provides versatility on the wing. Joseph Taylor also averages double figures at 11.6 points per game and contributes across the stat sheet.

LSUS defeated TAMUSA twice during the regular season, including a 113-84 win at The Dock on Jan. 17 and a 94-84 road victory in San Antonio on Feb. 19.

Now, with a trip to Alexandria on the line, the Pilots will look to defend their home floor once more and take the next step in their postseason journey.
